Patience is a Virtue: For girls behind the curve.

By

Hey.

A while ago, I penned a grievance that spoke on my disappointment on learning that I hadn’t been accepted into UF master’s advanced standing. I was heartbroken though a meeting with the program’s advisor had poured back into me and confirmed that I was on the right track despite needing more refinement.

At that moment, I believed I was beyond lost, behind, and had wasted approximately four years of my life. I cried, y’all.

Since then, my life as been a constant waiting period for the things I’ve prayed for. Sometimes, I felt a bit too far from God for him to hear my cries. I got many “No’s”. From internships (with every company I applied to), with a school I applied to in Georgia, etc. While this year has been filled with constant wins, you can imagine my frustration with also constantly waiting and being denied.

But God moves things around for when the time and place is right.

As of today, I have been admitted into the University of Florida Master of Architecture program.

I’ve been admitted into Valencia College Construction Specialist Technical Certificate Program.

I’ve graduated Florida A&M University Architecture program.

I’ve secured my domain for my blog.

I’ve published some of my creative works on said blog/website.

I’ve started writing my debut novel.

I’ve moved back home.

I’ve begun to gather my finances.

For the girls and guys who believe that they’re behind the curve, just wait for a second and breathe. God is working on your behalf, and all things work together for those who love him. It’s human to get tired or fatigued in this thing we call life, but you mustn’t let go or give up. As cliche as it sounds, good things come to those who wait.

You are not behind; you are on time for your life.

Come hell or high water.
I love you ❤
